Our Satya

We believe it's important to share the deeper inspiration behind Satya Gardens — because transparency and authenticity are the foundation of trust. By opening up about what drives us, we hope to build meaningful connections with everyone who becomes part of this vision.

Vulnerability is at the heart of Satya, and of life itself. By expressing our truth and the passions that guide our choices, we hope to inspire others to follow their own path and help create a more compassionate, connected world.

Satya Gardens was born from many roots — a love for the planet, a desire to reimagine our food systems, a commitment to community, wildlife, and education, and so much more. Below, you'll find the core principles that guide us, along with a deeper look into the intentions shaping this vision.

Landscape

For The Planet

We live on the most magnificent planet covered with miraculous landscapes, beautiful blue oceans, and endless natural wonders. It is home to over

8.7 BILLION species!

Our planet is currently undergoing significant shifts, with well-documented impacts on the quality of our soil, water, and air. Unfortunately, many of these changes have been for the worse. While this reality is difficult to accept,  there is hope—positive change is still possible!

At Satya Gardens, we will restore soil health using permaculture practices and sustainable land management techniques. To conserve our most precious natural resource, water, we plan to collect and recycle it up to 4x throughout the property. By giving back to the land and water systems, we’ll also naturally improve air quality, as the increased presence of plants and trees will help sequester carbon from the atmosphere.

Everything is interconnected, and when each of us makes small changes, we can create powerful ripples that contribute to healing our planet.

Cleaning Nature

For Our Communities

Community is essential for our well-being. We thrive when we share knowledge, skills, meals, and experiences, leading to greater happiness and improved health. At Satya Gardens, we believe

in the power of giving back to local communities and

fostering connections that enrich our lives.

We are committed to establishing a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that will provide local groups with opportunities for learning and healing

at no cost. We will also organize clean-up days to protect our environment. By coming together and sharing our unique skills

and passions, we can uplift one another and create a

lasting positive impact in our communities.

Bird Portrait

For The Animals

Costa Rica is rich in biodiversity, home to around 5% of the world’s species, despite covering only 0.03% of the Earth’s landmass. The wildlife here

plays a crucial role in maintaining the planet’s health, and it’s our

responsibility to cherish and protect these amazing creatures.

At Satya Gardens, we are dedicating over 50% of our land to nature and animal conservation. We will collaborate closely with local wildlife conservationists in Costa Rica to protect, study, and care for this area, ensuring that these animals always have a safe haven to call home.

For Our Food Systems

Our food systems have changed drastically over the past 50 years, with produce and food items increasingly modified for size and shelf life rather than nutrition. This shift has led to the consumption of unrecognizable ingredients and artificial additives linked to serious health concerns. While people once connected closely with their food — growing gardens or supporting local farmers — today's market is dominated by large grocery chains, putting small to medium-sized organic farms at risk.

To improve our health and the planet's well-being, we need to return to a more holistic food system. Commercial farming practices degrade our soil and are ultimately unsustainable. You don't need to grow all your own food, but cultivating even a few herbs or vegetables can be deeply rewarding. Supporting local organic farms is essential for promoting sustainable practices and ensuring access to nutritious food for everyone. We are what

we eat — and prioritizing natural, wholesome food is vital

to building thriving, resilient communities.

For Intentional Connection

Intentional connection is essential for embracing satya. We are all interconnected—plants, animals, ecosystems, and people—and each of us plays an important role. This connection is a fundamental pillar of a healthy,  fulfilling life, helping us calm our minds and open up to collaboration and creativity, ultimately fostering a vibrant community.

At Satya Gardens, we provide resources to nurture intentional connections with ourselves and others. Our daily offerings include yoga, guided meditation, and breathwork exercises for group bonding, along with serene gardens for individual reflection. We also host educational workshops

and retreats, allowing individuals to learn and connect with

like-minded community members, inspiring a profound

connection of mind, body, and spirit.

Flour on Dough

For Education

One of our favorite aspects of Satya Gardens is the opportunity to connect with others through education. Like many of our future guests, we are new to permaculture,off-grid living, and natural building, and we are thrilled to create a space wherepeople can come together
to learn these invaluable skills and insights from

experts all around the globe.

We are excited to empower ourselves and our communities with knowledge and hands-on experience that will enable
us to educate others.

For Our Future

Our primary goal in establishing Satya Gardens is to create a safe space where people, animals, and nature can thrive, allowing future

generations to experience, learn from, and enjoy it.

We aim to leave this planet knowing that we played our part in contributing to the well-being of both our planet and our communities.

We are connectors, collaborators, and creators, and we hope that Satya Gardens will serve as a place where people, animals, and nature can

come together to connect, collaborate, and create.
